Gomberg To Drive Around Edmonton.

Today, on Monday September 14, 1998 from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. mayoralty candidate Tooker Gomberg will drive around Edmonton. Gomberg has recently acquired a learner’s permit after ten years without a driver’s license.

“A friend suggested that I could better understand the city if I drove around it” Gomberg said. “I’m prepared to go the extra mile.”

Gomberg will drive from Southwest Edmonton to the University of Alberta, then he will go downtown, then along the Yellowhead, and then back to the south side to drive on 75th Street.

Gomberg is no stranger to driving. He spent a few years as a truck driver, and as a taxi driver. He has also driven to every corner of the province of Alberta.

“Transportation issues are central issues in the upcoming elections. I am committed to better understanding the problems, and proposing cost-effective, attractive solutions that don’t disrupt neighbourhoods.”
